IT'S GOBBLE TIME!

Posted by

Staying true to form by working at least one Holiday ahead helps me to achieve my project goals...how about YOU?

I've been thinking about our next upcoming Holiday...Thanksgiving!

Who doesn't love them some Turkey, Stuffing and Pumpkin Pie?

Today, I want to put a little spin on a kitchen towel to help celebrate this Special Day...

So...Let's get Started!

Have you seen the new applique design from Baby Kay's called “Cute Turkey Pumpkin Hat”?

OMG...it is super CUTE and just PERFECT for hanging on the front of my oven door!

I started by using the 5x7 design size and paired it up with the Silly Monster font for the word “GOBBLE” underneath this sweet little guy! I curved the word slightly so that it would “hug” the bottom of the design...LOVE that!

The Stats...

-5.25” wide X 6.75” tall

-12,856 stitches

Here she goes...

The towel I selected is a “linen” style that I found in a two pack at my local Hobby Lobby Store. I have it loaded in the traditional way of using my 8x8 Full Fast Frame that was prepped with sticky stabilizer. I also fused a piece of No Show Mesh Cut Away stabilizer to the backside...mostly because I wanted the design to maintain it's shape over time, since the linen style towel was thinner than some of the towels I usually use. The No Show Mesh does just that...NO SHOW through the towel!

And just because it's what I do...

I slapped a piece of WSS on top and let her run after all the fabric panels were tacked down in place and trimmed!

Since this linen like towel seems a little bit “Plain Jane” for my taste...I gave it a little makeover with some ribbon and coordinating “Thanksgiving Words” fabric!

Now...there's a PLAN!

Bring on the Turkey and all it's Fixin's!
